The BLACK BOX(R) RS-232<->RS485/449 Interface Converter supports full-duplex operation and hardware handshaking for up to 32 bidirectional devices. Because it's transparent to speed and protocol, you can use it for various applications. It provides bidirectional synchronous or asynchronous conversion for all commonly used RS-232 and RS-485 signals. Each port is selectable for data terminal equipment (DTE) or data communications equipment (DCE). Both ports feature three LED indicators--DSR, CTS, and Data--that indicate the status of incoming data on each port so you can monitor activity initiated from either side of the converter.
