You can increase the distance of any Single-Ended SCSI bus an additional 6 meters (19.6 ft.), or a Low-Voltage Differential (LVD) SCSI bus 25 meters (82 ft.), with the BLACK BOX(R) SCSI LVD Repeater. With the SCSI LVD Repeater, you have the flexibility you need to place SCSI peripherals. The repeater plugs in-line on a SCSI chain and regenerates and reconditions data signals, doubling the distance data can travel. Completely transparent to the user, the repeater doesn't require a SCSI bus address. and no software is required for installation and operation. The SCSI LVD Repeater is a perfect solution for MSCS clustering environments, providing for the isolation and automatic termination of cluster servers. When a cluster server is powered down, the repeater provides necessary termination to ensure safe insertion or removal of devices. The repeater's high-speed SCSI interface supports data rates of up to 80 MBps and is async and sync compatible. The repeater is also compatible with SCSI-1, -2, and -3. Active-negation bus terminators provide optimum impedance matching between SCSI devices and cables. For extra flexibility, these internal terminators can be enabled or disabled by the user via a switch mounted on the unit's side panel.
