- Choose from three operation modes. What could be better than giving 1 user easy access to 16 servers over inexpensive CAT5 cable? Giving two users access with the ServSelect(tm) II! It's the perfectly simple solution for busy IT departments where two people need access to multiple CPUs! Two is better than one! You don't have time to wait for another user to finish working before you can log on. That's why the ServSelect II is designed with two analog port sets to accommodate two monitors and a pair of PS/2(R) keyboards and mice. Now 2 users have a beautifully designed way to control, switch between, troubleshoot, and even reboot up to 16 CPUs or other ServSwitch(tm) units. Easygoing... Powerful on-screen management features make server selection and system configuration easy. You can identify each server by a unique name, ID number, or port number. The ServSelect II gives you three operational modes for selecting servers: Broadcast, Scan, and Switch. In Broadcast mode, you can simulta-neously control more than one server to ensure that all selected servers receive the same input. In the Scan mode, you can scan only a few or all 16 servers--you decide. In Switch mode, either user can select any server at any time. Very compatible. Make connections to individual PC or Sun(R) servers with the ServSelect Server Access Modules. Choose from modules for PC servers with a serial-style connector (KV123A), PS/2 style connectors (KV125A), or a USB connector (KV126A), as well as a module for Sun(R) servers with an HD15 connector (KV127A). (Note that legacy Sun video requires an ACD002-R2 adapter.) Powered by their connected servers, the modules "keep alive" even if the ServSelect II loses its power. Good connections. No special cables are required to link your ServSelect II with these modules. All you need is ordinary CAT5 UTP cable. This type of connection cuts down on the amount of cable at the rack, so you can establish higher server density while providing greater airflow that keeps your equipment cool. The Server Access Modules not only have an RJ-45 connector for making CAT5 connections, they also have a built-in color-coded KVM cable that plugs into the server's keyboard, monitor, and mouse ports. More good stuff. You'll get optimum 1600 x 1280 resolution for analog VGA, SVGA, and XGA when using a 10-foot (3.0-m) cable. Keep in mind that the longer the cable, the lower the resolution. Although the system adjusts automatically to the video parameters, you can fine tune the image manually and set refresh and frame rates. The Se
