Black Box has the solution: the V.35 Fiber Optic Line Driver. This driver gives you the full-featured versatility you want at a price that doesn't break your budget. Use it to send synchronous data between a mainframe and a controller. Link two LAN bridges in the same building for high-speed networking. You can even set up a V.35 tail-circuit operation. The built-in loopback test keeps the fiber link in sync. Get the flexibility you need with the V.35 Fiber Optic Line Driver. It gives you the option to choose multiple operating settings. First, set the driver for full- or half-duplex operation. Next, set your speed. Just flip a switch to choose rates from 2400 bps to 256 kbps. Your data will go far, too--up to 1.4 miles (2.2 km) over 100-micron fiber cable! Use internal switches to set more operating characteristics. You can set the carrier as constant or switched with a selectable RTS/CTS delay. You can even set the TX data clock. Check the status of your communications with a glance at the front panel. LEDs indicate flow control. TX, RX, and TRS indicate data activity on the V.35 interface. CD indicates there is a carrier signal on the RX fiber optic connector. In addition, diagnosing problems is easy. Two push buttons on the front panel control TST and DLB. The line driver comes with two fiber optic ports and a V.35 port (DCE) for your host computer or terminal (DTE) connection. You can also use an included adapter cable to convert the DB25-pinned RS-530 interface to an M/34-pinned V.35 interface.
