Autosensing 10-/100-/1000-Mbps ports enable you to connect ports of any speed, so you can easily integrate Ethernet and Fast Ethernet network segments into your high-speed Gigabit network. A robust 128 KB RAM buffer smooths the interface between different network speeds. Ports automatically negotiate duplex, supporting half- or full-duplex for 10-Mbps and 100-Mbps speeds and full-duplex only at Gigabit speeds. And with auto MDI/MDX on all ports, you don't have to worry about having a crossover cable on hand. The Back Office Switch has basic management capabilities, too. Use the included software to assign an IP address to each Back Office Switch, then use any Web browser to turn ports on or off, set port speed, and set port duplex.
