Switching is easy: Switch locally using the switch's front-panel push button, a keyboard hotkey sequence, or a three-button mouse. You can also switch remotely through the serial port using a serial device. Compatible with all types. The adaptable ServSwitch Wizard includes built-in PS/2(R) and PC/AT(R) compatibility with support for Microsoft(R) IntelliMouse(R) plus support for both both burst-mode and prompt-mode mouse communication. The switch automatically restores keyboard and mouse states when channel is changed. The ServSwitch Wizard is compatible with all popular PC operating systems. It's also compatible with laptops that have USB connectors, IBM(R) ThinkPad(R) notebooks with "Y" cables, IBM RS/6000(R), Compaq(R) Alpha(R), SGI(tm), and Sun computers. Support for Display Data Channel (DDC/DDC1/DDC2) PC-to-monitor communication ensures that your video cards are always on the same page as your monitor. The ServSwitch Wizard features flash memory that makes future firmware upgrades a snap. Plus this switch is secure--password security prevents its unauthorized use. Cable it up! Make CPU connections by using standard PC-style connectors. The ServSwitch Wizard has built-in variable scanning and supports extended-distance CPU connections. To connect a PS/2 CPU, order our coax PS/2 CPU Cable (EHN408) on. To connect an IBM compatible CPU with USB connectors, choose the PS/2 to USB Flash Cable (EHN428) on. (You can also use the EHN428 cable to connect to a Sun CPU with USB connectors.) To connect a Sun CPU with an 8-pin mini DIN keyboard and mouse connector, get the PS/2 to Sun Flash Cable (EHN429). In most applications, the ServSwitch Wizard can draw all the power it needs from its attached CPUs. However, for cascading, high-end video, or for use as a video-only switch, you may need a supplemental power supply (PS649-R2).
