Description:
  • Switch up to four independent SCSI buses from the 2 x 2 model.
  • Narrow and Wide SCSI support.
  • Switch up to six independent SCSI buses from the 4 x 2 model.
  • All SCSI Matrix Switches include (2) remote control software diskettes for Windows(R), (1) 10-ft. DB9 male/DB9 female RS-232 cable, (1) DB9 male to DB25 female serial adapter, (1) 6-ft. power cord, and (1) manual. Select and connect up to six independent SCSI buses in any combination. The SCSI Matrix Switch from Black Box eliminates the need to swap and reconfigure SCSI cables and bus terminators each time a new system configuration is required! The switch connects the individual SCSI buses electronically in any combination via internal electronic switching circuits. The SCSI Matrix Switch is fully compliant with all SCSI-1, SCSI-2, and SCSI-3 specifications and works with Ultra 2, Ultra, and Fast SCSI. It's compatible with Windows(R) 95/98, Windows NT(R), and Windows 2000. The SCSI Matrix Switch doesn't need a device ID and is completely transparent to all devices attached to it. The switch features an easy-to-use lighted LCD panel. Choose from MENU, ENTER, and directional keys on the soft-touch keypad. You can use the front-panel controls to:
  • Set and configure SCSI ports.
  • Set termination.
  • Set switch number.
  • View power supply status.
  • View internal temperature alarm.
  • Set serial port configuration.
  • Display SCSI bus Busy status. Or, you can use the included Windows software to control the switch either over an RS-232 serial interface or over a 10BASE-T network connection. SCSI Matrix Switches are ideal for "high-availability" backup server applications. By switching a common set of external disk drives containing all network and production files between a primary and backup server, these switches make network downtime a thing of the past! When the switch software detects a failure in the primary server, it switches control of the external drives over to the backup server and brings the network back on-line! Your data is safe, too. Internal circuitry monitors the active SCSI ports and doesn't change the matrix switch's configuration until the bus is free. The Single-Ended Narrow and Wide/LVD SCSI switches support Single-Ended (SE) and Narrow and Wide Low-Voltage Differential (LVD) SCSI. The switch autodetects SE and LVD devices. The Differential/HVD SCSI switches support Narrow and Wide High-Voltage Differential (HVD) SCSI.
