You can check rate calculations on the convenient 4-digit LCD, and color coding of all test functions and switch options make your tests quick and easy. You can also connect two BERTs for full-duplex testing and initiate tests on your modem or line-driver link. Test data patterns of 63, 511, 2047, ALT, MARK, and SPACE and message lengths from "1" to "continuous." The 232 BERT is a reliable way to diagnose RS-232 transmission problems--either sync or async--with speeds from 300 bps to 19.2 kbps. The battery of tests for the RS-232 tester includes bit-error-rate and block-error-rate testing (BERT and BLERT), errored seconds, number of bits of either polarity on any RS-232 pin, and error introduction on lines. Just two 9-volt batteries will keep the 232 BERT going for more than 100 hours continuously. The V.35 BERT finds faults fast in your high-speed DDS link at test speeds up to 2.048 Mbps. Dual power makes the V.35 tester even more adaptable. Use either a 9-volt battery or the AC adapter that comes with the V.35 BERT.
