- Rackmountable. The BLACK BOX(R) Managed Back Office Switch with Gigabit Uplink features full SNMP management capability plus a high-speed Gigabit uplink. All 24 10-/100-Mbps copper ports are autosensing for speed and autonegotiating for duplex and have Auto MDI/MDI-X. An additional GBIC slot accommodates your choice of a multimode or single-mode Gigabit uplink module. The switch's SNMP management capabilities enable you to manage all the devices on your network. Use SNMP to turn ports on and off, set port speed and duplex, monitor ports, and set VLAN features. Access SNMP through an in-band management station or out-of-band through the RS-232 port. You can even access management features through your Web browser. The switch has full SNMP support for MIB II, Bridge MIB, Ethernet MIB, RMON MIB, and a proprietary MIB. It includes RMON groups 1, 2, 3, and 9 (statistics, history, alarm, and event). Port-based VLAN provides precise control over network traffic segmentation and broadcast domains. Establish up to 256 VLANs with GVRP for dynamic VLAN registration and support for up to 7 trunk groups with up to 4 ports in each trunk. Want more? You also get Quality of Service (QoS) with priority queues for high and normal priority data with weighted round-robin scheduling. The switch supports IEEE 802.x flow control for full-duplex mode and collision-based backpressure for half-duplex mode. Other traffic-management features include by-port egress/ingress rate control, head of line (HOL) blocking prevention, IP multicasting, broadcast storm prevention, Web cluster, and broadcast filtering. The switch also supports jumbo frames up to 1536 bytes.
