Description:
- Includes V.54 diagnostics for local and remote loopback tests. This is the big rig of 4-wire line drivers. When the distance is too long for short-range modems, you need the BLACK BOX(R) 19.2-kbps RS-232 Long-Haul Modem. It transports data up to 11.8 miles (19 km) over 24 AWG unconditioned lines or up to an incredible 62 miles (100 km) over conditioned lines. Its adaptive equalizer and 16-state, 8-dimensional Trellis-coded modulation enable error-free transmissions. The transmit level is selectable in 3-dB increments, from 0 to -12 dBm. There are three timing options: internal, external, and recovered. Line communication is always synchronous, but when the ME380A is set to async mode, it converts DTE async data to sync according to the V.22 bis standard. With its V.54 diagnostics, you can perform local analog, local digital, and remote digital loopback. Loopbacks are controlled by either front-panel push buttons or by toggling pins on the RS-232 port. In addition, the ME380A can perform bit error tests on the link. For guaranteed data transmission over long distances, the ME380A delivers!
