The modems have nine preset data rates from 1200 bps to 19.2 kbps. Send your data up to 2 miles (3.2 km) at any of those speeds. Choose from three sources of transmit timing: internal oscillator, external clocking, or loopback from the receive signal. These clocking options ensure correct delivery of your data and proper operation of your network. You can also set the modem to operate continuously or as a switched unit, which is controlled by the end-to-end transfer of a control signal. Set a 7-msec delay for current DTE and DCE equipment, like servers and CPUs. Use a 53-msec delay when attaching your DTE to legacy equipment, such as industrial controllers and older mainframe systems.
