Universal, autosensing power supply. Full- and half-duplex operation. AutoCross Media Converters for Ethernet or Fast Ethernet are available in both multimode and single-mode versions. The UTP side is autosensing to either MDI or MDI-X. You can use either a straight or crossed cable to connect a hub or NIC. Both Ethernet and Fast Ethernet versions feature LinkALERT(tm), which monitors 100% of physical uplink and downlink failures and alerts the network if transmission fails. Use AutoCross Media Converters up to 100 meters (328 ft.) on the 100BASE-TX link, up to 2 kilometers (1.2 mi.) on a multimode fiber link, and up to 20 kilometers (12.4 mi.) on a single-mode fiber link. Ethernet versions of the AutoCross Media converter are not compatible with autosensing devices (for example, a 10-/100-Mbps hub); they only work with standard 10-Mbps devices.
