Description:
- Models available with RS-232, V.35, RS-422, RS-530, X.21, 4-wire, or fiber.
- Choose from two models to support AUI or UTP LAN connections.
- Automatic aging simplifies management by keeping the address table current.
- LAN table automatically learns up to 10,000 addresses. Talk about tiny! If our compact Remote MiniBridge were any smaller, you could carry it in your wallet! This palm-size powerhouse packs all the performance you need to support full IEEE 802.3 connectivity between remote LAN segments. All you have to do is plug it in! It configures easily with just four front-panel DIP switches. Once plugged in and powered on, it begins learning the MAC-layer addresses of each node on its segment instantly. Then it goes to work, reducing your overall network traffic by forwarding only those packets bound for other segments. Available in models to support AUI or UTP LAN ports, the Remote MiniBridge simply plugs into your network hub or switch. Attach the WAN port to a DCE such as a CSU/DSU or multiplexor and you've completed your remote connection. You can even use a pair of Remote MiniBridges to extend or segment your existing LAN--two ingenious ways to improve the performance of your campus network. Filtering and forwarding rates of 14,880 packets per second (pps) approach the theoretical maximum wire-speed threshold of 15,000 pps, so you won't find a bridge much faster than this one. To further support maximum data rates, the internal buffer holds up to 256 frames with a throughput latency of just one frame. The comprehensive front-panel LED display conveniently indicates LAN and WAN port activity as well as power (PWR) and collisions (COL). Four easy-to-set DIP switches are also on the front of each Remote MiniBridge to help you configure the parameters you need, so you can get to work as quickly as possible. Considering all that, the Remote MiniBridge is truly a remarkable member of the Black Box family of remote bridges. It's a great, affordable way to maintain the high-speed, long-distance LAN connections your business demands. It's also one more reason why Black Box is your source for LAN equipment.
