Description:
  • Offers five timing options.
  • Control the mux via the front panel or an ASCII terminal.
  • Compensates for differential delays. Two for one. Now you can combine E1 and T1 equipment and lines! The BLACK BOX(R) 2T1/E1 Inverse Mux enables E1 equipment to use two T1 transmission links. It actually divides the E1 (2.048-Mbps) data into two equal T1 1.544-Mbps lines. The setup. Use the mux as a cost-effective, high-speed transmission method for interconnecting bridges, routers, and other E1 equipment. If you need to drive a private point-to-point line or a high-speed circuit, consider this mux. It's a great solution if you need to provide corporate access to the Internet, inbound access to your own Web server, or support for a voice/data/fax/video WAN that extends halfway around the world. T1/E1 can make the connection. Control and fallback. For maximum convenience, the mux is designed for unattended operation. Control the mux via simple menus from an ASCII terminal or front-panel push buttons. The operating parameters are stored in nonvolatile memory, so you can set up the system and go. In case of line failure, you can specify a fallback line. The mux will automatically fall back to that line or to a lower rate if the main line fails because of signal loss or other problems. Framed. The 2T1/E1 Inverse Mux is completely transparent to the E1 framing pattern; it doesn't synchronize to the E1 frame. The mux can transmit E1 data streams using 256N or 256S, with or without CRC-4, and any proprietary framing methods as well as unframed data streams. No delays. The 2T1/E1 Inverse Multiplexor compensates for any differential delay of up to 64 ms between the T1 lines. This ensures that the original E1 stream is reconstructed properly. The end-to-end delay is no higher than the maximum differential delay between the links. The right timing. For maximum flexibility in system integration, the mux offers five different timing schemes: transparent, external E1, loopback, internal, and external station. Spotting trouble. Rich in diagnostic features, the mux features local and remote loopbacks on the data channel and the links. You can also run V.52 bit error rate tests (BERTs). Advanced self-tests and an automatic power-up self-test provide circuit-level diagnostic data that make the mux easy to maintain. Sound the alarm. In case of operational problems, the mux features an alarm system to warn you of a loss of frame alignment or an excessive bit error rate.
