BLACK BOX(R) Dual-Speed 10/100 Stackable Hubs combine high-bandwidth 100-Mbps network devices with those running at 10 Mbps. Each hub provides 8 or 16 RJ-45 autosensing ports for 10- or 100-Mbps Ethernet, so each port can change speeds as needed to match the speed of a connected device. Master Hubs (LH8000A-M and LH8016A-M) include built-in switching that forwards packets between 10- and 100-Mbps domains. You only need one Master Hub to support additional Client Hubs in a stack, and you can position the Master Hub at any point in the stack. Unlike Master Hubs, Client Hubs don't include a bridge module, so they cost less, and you save BIG! You can also stack and use the Client Hubs without a Master Hub:
- If an Ethernet switch is available to interconnect the two speed domains.
- If only 100-Mbps devices are connected and the 10-Mbps domain is unused, or vice versa.
- If the application requires dual-speed operation with two unconnected and uncoordinated domains. In addition, the 16-Port Dual-Speed 10/100 Stackable Hubs can be stacked with Mixed-Media Fiber Hubs. The LH8016A-M is compatible with the Mixed-Media 16-Port Add-On Chassis (LH8050A-C), and the LH8016A-C is compatible with all five models of the Mixed-Media 16-Port Base Chassis (LH8050A). (In mixed configurations, your stack must have either a Master Hub or a Base Chassis.) Each Client Hub comes with a 9" (22.8-cm) stacking cable with a 50-pin SCSI male connector. Just plug in the cable to connect your hubs and go! Address tables in both models have the capacity for up to 8000 node addresses, and all units comply with 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX Ethernet standards.
