Wallplates with multiple outlets are quickly tested for "live" link and far-end Fast Ethernet compatibility. Testers show wiring polarity to determine connections to the network or node. Veri-Net performs all these functions and is a receive-only tester. Veri-Net+ The Veri-Net+ has all the features of the Veri-Net plus a bidirectional Link Activation function. Use this feature to verify two-way link integrity and identify connections from the wall outlet to a hub, switch, NIC, or other device. The Veri-Net+ actually transmits a link pulse that can be viewed on the far-end equipment as a blinking of the link-indicator LED. A tone-generator feature enables you to trace the cable path with a standard tone probe when a "no-link" is found. An automatic power down feature shuts the unit off after 12 minutes of inactivity, prolonging the life of your battery. Veri-Net Pro If you maintain, or develop network or telecom systems you need the Veri-Net Pro. Just plug into any RJ-45 jack to identify the line type and network connection you have--10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, Token Ring, analog, PBX, or ISDN. You'll save time and make accurate readings when you're setting up a network or troubleshooting an existing one. This tester is also great for when you're updating your cabling plant information or verifying functionality. The Veri-Net Pro has a 6" (15.2-cm) pigtail. So if you have a wall connection turned on its side or placed upside down, you can still plug in the tester and flip it over to get the reading. A ferrule at the base of the pigtail protects the tester from breakage and excessive cable bends.
