It toggles AC power OFF and ON to any remote device plugged into its five outlets. A new feature enables you to set each plug to ON or OFF, as well as OFF/ON. The Pow-R-Boot 5 is more intelligent than ever! It still enables you to reboot your network equipment--routers, CSU/DSUs, remote-access servers--remotely via a modem from any RS-232 device capable of sending an ASCII string. Just call from a remote workstation via a dialup modem. Send an eight-character string from any RS-232 device to toggle power and kickstart your faraway equipment. Pow-R-Boot 5 always verifies successful restarts. Because each outlet is individually controlled, you can restart one device without disturbing the rest of your network. We've added three new user-programmable features to the Pow-R-Boot 5. Password protection ensures that only authorized users can access the Pow-R-Boot 5. Site ID enables users to identify the location they are working with during a reboot process. And plug labels enable you to name each outlet to identify the equipment to which it's attached. The Pow-R-Boot 5 is RS-232 controlled, so you can signal it remotely over a modem with nearly any serial device: a PC, a terminal, even a serial pager. Or, for local use, signal the Pow-R-Boot 5 straight from a PC or terminal. The Pow-R-Boot 5 is also rackmountable, occupying only 1U of rack space.
