- Patented locking clip secures the PC Power Lock between the computer CPU's power port and power cord plug. You've probably spent a lot of money to stop outside intruders from accessing your system data electronically. But what have you done to guard against the low-tech inside snoops--the thieves or nosy co-workers bold enough to sit down at your PC and steal your data while you're away from your desk? The PC Power Lock provides foolproof security against such access, so you can prevent unauthorized use of your system or keep a malicious user from stealing or tampering with your data, or infecting your system with a virus. It does this by going to the source--the computer's power source, that is--by interrupting the flow of power to the system while you're out. You simply fasten the included locking clip onto the PC Power Lock assembly before it's plugged into the CPU's power port. From then on, access is limited to users who have a special key that turns the AC power on and off via a keylock switch. When you go to lunch or leave the office at day's end, a simple turn of the key cuts power to the computer, thereby preventing unauthorized use of your system. The PC Power Lock system includes a passthrough connector that acts as a power cord interrupter and the keylock switch itself, both of which are molded securely to the ends of an extra-long cord. This 5-foot cord enables you to place the keylock switch in a convenient spot on your desktop--in most instances, next to the keyboard (a VELCRO(R) fastener keeps the keylock switch in place). Once you attach the locking clip to the passthrough connector that plugs into your CPU power port, the PC Power Lock becomes part of your computer and can removed only with our specially designed Removal Tool (order separately). And that's a good thing if you want reliable data protection. The PC Power Lock is PC and Mac(R) compatible and works with all desktop and tower CPUs.
