The Smartvue S2 IP Video System is an intelligent IP video system that delivers high-quality, high-resolution video you can access from a Web browser across your network--even across the Internet. And it's so easy to set up, it almost sets up itself. Quality video The Smartvue S2 IP Video System offers incredibly high-quality video. It controls exposure down to the pixel level, offering DVD resolution video that is crisp, clear, and perfectly exposed in almost any lighting. The system offers a wide dynamic range so you see the whole picture even in difficult lighting conditions because each pixel has its own aperture to give you "pixel-perfect" exposure. The cameras automatically switch to black-and-white mode in low light levels. Smartvue produces sharp video through progressive scan imaging, which captures an image as a single frame instead of in two fields like the interlaced imaging used in traditional CCTV. This produces sharper video that minimizes flickering and unwanted artifacts in the displayed image. Easy setup Smartvue is a breeze to set up. It's self-configuring with no gateway, IP addresses, or firewalls to worry about. Just place up to 10 wireless or wired Smartvue cameras and connect the Digital Video Manager (DVM) to your network. The DVM finds and configures up to 10 cameras automatically, so you're ready to view cameras live from your Web browser or Web-enabled cell phone. You can also use your Web browser or cell phone to easily program your cameras for a wide range of options: - Live preview

Reliable and efficient Smartvue runs on the stable, reliable Linux(R) operating system. H.264 video compression reduces video storage requirements by up to half that of most other compression methods. You can choose either H.264 or MJPEG compression from any camera so you have the format that fits your needs.
