Start with the chassis, then add up to seven high-speed disk drives. The drives are completely hot-swappable and are easy to install using simple SCSI connections. The chassis has room for a redundant controller and power supply. Each controller and power supply can support the entire system if the other fails. The chassis is designed to protect the high-performance disk drives by shielding them from abrupt swings in temperature and by dampening the vibration that can result from high-rate drives. You can use the chassis as a standalone tower or as a standard 19" rackmount unit. The 7-Bay NAS RAID 5 is simple to manage. The included CD provides an on-line help file, and the entire system can be managed through any standard Web browser. The unit is secure. It provides authentication by NDS, NetWare Bindery, or Windows NT(R) domain.
