Electrospec has updated its Certification in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 and the corresponding SAE aerospace standard, AS9120.
The AS 9120 Standard is the requirements for a Quality Management System based on AS 9100 which adds 100+ additional requirements that are specific to distributors who carry aircraft and aerospace components. It ensures Proper Material Handling, Document Control and Records, Correct Product Verification, Purchasing Process Best Practices, Airworthiness Certificates, and Traceability. AS9120 includes requirements that would help a distributor minimize the risk of entering counterfeit parts into the supply chain.

The purpose of IDEA is to promote the independent distribution industry through a media advocacy campaign, to improve the quality of products and services through a quality certification program, educational seminars, and conferences, and to promote the study, development, and implementation of techniques and methods designed to improve the business of independent distributors. |
